Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, was set up by act of the Legislative Assembly of Madhya Pradesh. The University is named after Makhanlal Chaturvedi a renowned Freedom Fighter, Poet and Journalist. Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Evam Sanchar Vishwavidyalaya (National University of Journalism and Communication) is the first University of the country dedicated to the Journalism and communication field
This University was formally inaugurated by Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, the then Vice President of India, on 16th January, 1991. The University is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).Curricula for Courses of the University are designed and regularly updated jointly by eminent academics and professionals.

Diploma in Computer Application (DCA)
Objective: The objective is to certify the candidates in practical aspects of computer data processing as opposed to theory. This covers the Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software so as to acquire over all skill, Integration of computer into business organization and their functions, Problem solving, using programming in suitable language.

Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA)
Objective: There are three main objectives of this Diploma course. To prepare a person who can work as Assistant Programmer in an organization and to train students to a level where they can readily compete for seats for lateral entry to advanced degree courses like MSc(CS). To prepare Computer Operator to operate various office packages effectively with some analytical approach and who can be directly employed by many organization To prepare Computer Assistant to Chartered Accountant The course has been designed keeping in mind the desirable characteristics of a competent computer professional.
